Recognized by the government, Prajna started the fit institution for girls in Mangalore city. In 2017 two new buildings were sponsored by KKS close to Moodbidri. One house is home for the smaller children from 6-12 (Bhoomie house), the other one is shelter to girls up to 18 years. The chief aim of the program is to give proper care and protection to destitute, abandoned, neglected and abused girls. The fit institution houses orphans, school drop-outs, domestic workers, ex-child labours and sexual abused and shelters children, who are in conflict with law or affected by HIV and other diseases. The children in the fit institution are referred by the Child Welfare Committee.

The project provides food, medical care, clothing and educational support. Prajna offers personal education programmes through individual tuitions and group activities. The children get the opportunity to improve their talents through vocational training and recreational activities. Furthermore, the staff gives counselling, to support the girls emotionally and help them build up a future.
The programs of Prajna are family orientated, the children can stay in contact with their parents regularly. They can have visits from their parents and spend the holidays with their family if possible. Prajna rehabilitates children through therapeutically counselling, personal protection and love care.
Right now there are 51 girls staying at the fit institution. 27 of them are going to high school, 12 go to PUC and 2 girls are doing their degree.
