PRAJNA initiated destitute cottages and a group foster home for children in village areas.

PRAJNA organizes a group foster home for destitute and abandoned children close to Moodbidri. Children can live in nature and calmness and get a feeling of familiar community and harmonic neighborhood. The new house is located right next to the FIT Institute and now also referred to as „Bhoomi“. 

Girls from 6 to 12 years can find a safe shelter there. The institution houses orphans, school drop-outs, domestic workers, ex-child labours and sexual abused and shelters children who are in conflict with law or affected by HIV and other diseases.

Food, medical care, clothing and educational support are provided as well as educational programs through individual tuitions and group activities. Moreover, the girls can improve their talents through vocational training and recreational activities. Furthermore, there is emotional support and help in building up a future by counselling done by the staff.
