Psychotherapeutic and Family Counselling Centre
The aim of the counselling centre is to advice families who suffer from inter familial challenges and societal problems. We focus on gender-discrimination and empowerment of women who are victims of injustice and contempt.
Prajna provides guidance for marital problems and improves the position of women in the family. Women, who are harassed by their husband or parents-in-law and suffer from mistreatment and disrespect, get psychological support. Through our Centre families recognize perspectives and prospects for the future and are being empowered. The Family Counselling Centre provides support for women and their families and uncovers perspectives and opportunities for individuals. Moreover, Prajna supports and rehabilitates marginalized and neglected children and finds opportunities and perspectives for their further life. Child labour, domestic workers and school drop-outs, sexual abused and addicts get personal support and individual treatment. Children, who are separated from their families, live in neglected areas or on the road and suffer from emotional and physical challenges find aid in the PRAJNA Counselling Centre. Through the Child Welfare Committee and the support of experienced and professional counsellors, abandoned children find adequate hostels and get shelter, food, education and medical care. Furthermore, we guide women and families in judicial issues and provide legal assistance. Our goal is to give assistance for harmonious family life. We concentrate on the improvement of communication and comprehension of family members to build an positive family environment.
159 new cases of distressed women and families have been registered and handled through the Family Counselling Centre in 2014.
